Trends: Child Maltreatment
This table shows the rate of substantiated or indicated reports of child maltreatment victims per 1,000 children as voluntarily reported by each state (Child Maltreatment 2008). You may also want to compare data to the national median, which is a comparison that is made in the federal Child Maltreatment Report from which the data are derived. State comparisons are not presented given the significant differences in state definitions of maltreatment and substantiation procedures.
